Her birth name is Deniz Çelik. She was born in Switzerland in 1973. She was sent back to Turkey as an infant and didn't go back to Switzerland until she finished high school. After a two year education there, she came back to Turkey.

Bendeniz's interest in music started quite late, at 19 years of age. Her first album was a great success thanks to a song called "Ya Ben Ya Hiç". She won the "gold record" award in a competition sponsored by a French TV in 1995.

Gerçek adi Deniz Çelik olan Bendeniz, İsviçre Zürih hastanesinde 23 Temmuz 1973 tarihinde dünyaya geldi. 5 aylıkken İstanbul'a gönderildi. Liseyi bitirdikten sonra, Isvicre'ye döndü ve iki yıl, büro işleri konusunda eğitim gördü. 19 yasindayken muzige merak saldi.

Biraz da tesaduflerin yardimiyla hazirladigi ve 1993 yilinda cikardigi ilk album buyuk basari gordu ("Ya Ben Ya Hiç"). Daha sonra pek cok albume imza atti.
